Olivehorse Care

During our many years implementing and optimising APO it has been clear that the effectiveness of advanced solutions will degrade over time, unless organisations continually equip their teams with the skills needed to harness the potential.

A common mistake with APO implementation is to educate and train planners on the same basis as other SAP transactional users. But to get the best out of APO planners need to be equipped to analyse the supply chain. They need to become problem solvers, with the capability to use the tool to model their specific challenges. This requires a wider range of skills and understanding which can rarely be gained through the classroom-style training normal in ERP implementations.

Our Olivehorse Care service is focused on developing those supply chain problem solvers. We give planners the skills and confidence needed to adapt system models to reflect changing supply chains.

We do this through intensive, on the job training with our team of skilled consultants. Training includes capability assessment, problem modelling, data review and issue resolution. Usually run over six weeks, and followed by continued support and monitoring, our programme creates self-sufficient planners. You will see adoption and buy-in levels soaring as understanding increases and we will also help you understand the relative capabilities of your team, enabling longer term development plans to be shaped accordingly.

While intensive, this program of planner training can provide a much higher level of return than investing further in costly solution developments or rework.

APO Implementation

The implementation of effective, value driven SAP APO solutions is our heritage. It is in our DNA.

SAP SCM implementations are commonly undermined by a lack of specialist experience. This can lead to the design of solutions that are difficult to implement and that fail to fully support operational processes and drive value. Olivehorse is different.

We focus entirely, and solely, supply chain planning solutions and primarily on SAP. Put simply, there is no other team that can offer the depth of experience in identifying and addressing the unique challenges that these projects present.

We provide solution architects, application and functional consultants who address the breadth of demand, supply and production planning processes. Each of them is a leader in their specialism, able to combine exceptional application knowledge with a pragmatic approach. The focus is on delivering solutions that work in practice, not just in the lab.

Our approach and team structure is designed to be flexible, to meet the differing needs of each client. But a common thread running through all our projects is an objective to instil deep understanding and self-sufficiency amongst the client user and support teams.

Every one of our implementations is directly led by one of our leadership team, giving client the best access to support where required.
